2008 has been an extremely successful year for Your Energy. With 64MW of renewable energy projects gaining planning consent this year alone we are now firmly established as among the UK's leading onshore wind energy developers and our ever-expanding portfolio puts us in the forefront of the fight against climate change.
Open Day at Burton Wold Wind Farm
Your Energy's 10-turbine Burton Wold Wind Farm hosted a public open day on Saturday 14 June to mark European Wind Weekend. We were joined by 1,500 visitors keen to learn more about how the wind farm was built and how it works. Visitors had the chance to see inside one of the turbines as well as enjoy Victorian-style funfair games.
Burton Wold Wind Farm among 2007's best renewable projects
The 10 turbine wind farm in Northamptonshire made the shortlist from over 30 nominations to be recognised as an outstanding renewable energy development. We are proud to have developed the largest onshore operating wind farm in England, and to make the shortlist amongst all types of renewable projects in the UK is fantastic. The Judges noted the huge level of local support for the wind farm during their decision making.
... and a Mention from the Civic Trust in 2008
Burton Wold Wind Farm has received a Mention in the 2008 Civic Trust Awards – the oldest built environment awards scheme in Europe. The Awards recognise the best in the built environment, and the belief that development should be for the benefit of people. Winners were announced on Wednesday 12 March 2008.
