15/06/09 Recycling Brainwave Rewarded at Business Awards
Your Energy are proud to sponsor the Eco-Friendly Company of the Year category for a second year at the annual Rugby Business Awards.
Ed Buckley, Managing Director of TekBroker UK Ltd has been involved in the electronic components and equipment business for 19 years, and is set to remain in the industry for a long time to come after his brainwave 18 months ago has proven to be a hit in the industry. Ed recognised that many clients were holding large quantities of excess components whilst others were having difficulty buying smaller parts, and he established a company to act as a broker in the middle.
Charlotte Healey, Development Manager for Your Energy Ltd presented the Award in Rugby’s Benn Hall and said “What most impressed us about this company is they have effectively created a thriving business from recycling. TekBroker UK is testament to how a successful business works with the environment, rather than against it. It was particularly timely as a survey released the previous week stated that the UK are Europe’s worst electrical recyclers.” It is thought the UK creates enough electrical waste each year to fill Wembley Stadium six times over.
TekBroker UK Ltd also had the honour of being named the overall winner of of Rugby Business of the Year. We wish them all the best for their green future.
