20/12/09 All turbines installed ahead of schedule

Despite some severe weather conditions in the last month, all 7 turbines have now been erected.  Works are ahead of schedule and all the turbines are expected to be operational by the end of February 2010.

01/12/09 Community Fund for Residents

The wind farm will contribute £70,000 each year to the local community for worthy initiatives.  This is a total of £1.75 million over the life of the wind farm.  How this money can be best spent is currently being discussed, and we would like to hear residents views.  Email us with your ideas.

06/08/09 Work progressing to schedule

The main contractor, Lagans, are in the final months of construction and preparing for delivery of turbines in November.

01/05/2009 Access tracks completed and foundation works begin

Work commenced on the site in February 2009 and good progress has been made since then.  Access tracks have been completed and work has started on the substation foundations.  

14/06/2007 Planning permission granted for Pates Hill Wind Farm

Plans for a 7-turbine wind farm in West Lothian have now been approved. Your Energy's 14 MW project at Pates Hill will feature Vestas V-80 turbines measuring 107 to the tip of the blade and will generate sufficient electricity to meet the needs of approximately 8,000 homes per year. Construction work is likely to get underway in the first half of 2009, with the wind farm becoming operational in late 2009 or early 2010.
