The Great Clifton Village Hall has received £5,200 towards a new central heating system, to replace the inefficient electric bar heating system currently in use.  Eva, Chairperson for the Village Hall Committee said "the heating has made a big difference, the hall was only being used 2 or 3 times a week.  Recently we have had 11 bookings for one week, including three for one day".

10/11/08 First local project benefits from Community Fund

An energy-efficient renovation project at the well-used Little Clifton Village Hall has become the first local scheme to benefit from the Community Fund. The fund has contributed more than £8,000 towards the popular hall's vital revamp. With the wind due to begin generating renewable electricity in Spring 2009, we look forward to the Community Fund being used to benefit more local projects.
